I am inspired and influenced by organic shapes and the beautiful Shropshire countryside. I am a printmaker and ceramicist.
I work in paperclay, mainly porcelain but also chocolate clay. The strength of paperclay gives me the opportunity to hand build my vessels with a sense of the fragility of a flower or a leaf. I mainly leave the beauty of the fired clay in the final vessel, but a few are glazed, smoked or occasionally have the addition of kintsugi – an ancient Japanese method which uses gold as an enhancement.
This year I will also be exhibiting some of my paintings.
