Rod Sheppard has been a wild life enthusiast for many years and since retirement has had the time and resources to focus on his passion for photography. He has travelled extensively, especially in South America, and his photographs are used on a number of wildlife holiday websites.
Although his particular passion involves photographing the natural world he has always had an interest in printmaking and how he might learn the techniques of making pictures from linocuts.
Recently he has been working on the conversion of photographic images into the medium of linocut prints. Rod’s current work has gone in two directions; the industrial history of the Gorge and studies of a variety of bird species. He publishes his photographs and linocuts on his website – travelrodphotography.co.uk – where he displays a whole range of local and international wildlife subjects.
