Making pretty thing from paper.
I’m a paper artist living and working in Bridgnorth.
Since graduated with a BA (Hons) in Visual Communication from The University of Wolverhampton, I’ve worked principally as a paper artist. My interest in traditional craft and artisan methods produces pieces that are individually hand-cut using a scalpel, with a focused attention to detail.
Papercutting is a craft with a long and international history, intended to decorate and brighten the world a little. Much of my work is figurative, focussing mainly on women and female emotion. I tend to lean towards the beautiful; in a world that is often perceived as ugly, I prefer to create ‘pretty’ things.
